Let’s Talk Life!! Why Do 3rd Class Graduates Do Better Than First Class Students After School Days?

Hi Guys,

Good day and hope you all are doing great?

This post is not to down talk anyone but to talk about the reality happening in the real world outside the 4 walls of the higher institutions.

Permit me to talk from experience, so far, I have watched my friends who are First class graduates and I have also taken a closer look at my other friends who graduated with 3rd class and I can tell you who are currently winning.

Why is this so, I asked myself? 🤔

I seriously cannot tell the reason why this is so but trust me, I will seek the Opinion of my other colleagues here at Naijaloaded and I believe we will be enlightened at the end.

The opinion from other Nigerians expressed in the comment sections means a lot to us and we won’t toy with it 😉

Let’s do this together 👇

Well, for me, I think most first class graduates are not equipped for the Nigerian Economy and that’s the reason why they don’t do better after school.

During my university days, you will see the brilliants students come together to read and act weird. Most of them look, talk, behave one kind (Bros, book no dey turn person to Mumu na). Am always angry looking at them.

I wonder If I can ever employ a slow/sluggish First class graduate when I can get a Smart 3rd class graduate, train he/she to fit into my Company/Business excellently.

Lastly, 3rd class knows they are not that good academically, so they tend to look for alternative hustling/learning something during their school days. Something they can fall back to after school.

The bottom line is that most first class graduates are Rigid and they can hardly fit into the Nigerian working ecosystem. Nigerian employers won’t welcome slow employee instead they look for Smart ones and that’s where majority of the 3rd class graduates falls. I stand to be corrected.

It has to do with individual’s orientation and mindset about schooling. Some people are of the opinion that getting a 1st Class is automatic employment in the outside world which is why they read their eyes out to pass in flying colours.

Meanwhile, some believe what they need is just the certificate. While others are reading book to pass very well, they are busy trying out different things that will bring food to their table. As a matter of fact some have started earning right from school.

Bill Gates once said; ‘I failed in some subjects in exam, but my friend passed in all. Now he is an engineer in Microsoft and I am the owner of Microsoft.’

The notion that 3rd class students are doing well more than the first class students after school has been a Viral thing in this new world.

Well I won’t say it’s the truth as we’ve seen more than enough well deserved first class students doing perfectly well after school.

But the truth why some 3rd class students are doing better than some first class students is mainly cause of the experience they gathered and heads up they gave themselves during the hard time they went through meditating about how they well they want to have their lives put together with the dis-satisfactory result they getting out of the school.

In my own opinion, you see those heads up and pep talk you do give yourself atimes, are more than the motivation anybody else in the world can give you a times.

The first class student sacrifice all energy in acquiring good grades thinking student with first class will definitely get a good job after school and also have a good future.

The 3rd class student who already knows it will be difficult to make the best out of school will look for a way to make it in life maybe by getting close to people who also graduated with 3rd class and learn from them, even some who do not have the opportunity to pass through school.

A professor in University of Ghana say;

“You could graduate as the best student in Finance but it doesn’t mean you will make more money than everybody else. The best graduating Law student does not necessarily become the best lawyer.

The fact is life requires more than the ability to understand a concept, memories it and reproduce it in an exam.

School rewards people for their memory. Life rewards people for their imagination and innovations. School rewards caution, life rewards daring. School hails those who live by the rules. Life exalts those who break the rules and set new ones”.

The thing is only the smart one make it in life, life is not all about academic grades.

The End!
